Located just West of Bonners Ferry, the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge is a refuge that contains diverse habitats for an impressive variety of wildlife. The refuge acts as a sanctuary for over 300 wildlife species, including over 200 species of birds, making this a top destination for those who love to be in and observe the marvels of nature.


There are a number of trails available should you wish to take a stroll through the area. Access to Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge is free, but subject to seasonal closures.
